Nike plus size mannequins
If the intent was to create a heated debate, Nike certainly succeeded in its aim.
In its store on Oxford Street, the well-known brand has in fact presented a new women's collection for plus-size and Paralympic athletes.
In reality, Nike has done nothing more than follow the example of other retailers or department stores, but evidently the echo aroused by the brand has diverted attention from the main purpose which is to celebrate inclusiveness and diversity even in the world of sport.
And so the brand was even accused of promoting unhealthy habits linked to the problem of obesity that is increasingly present in today's society. However, the reactions were not all negative. Many thanked Nike for making them feel more confident and at ease with themselves thanks to the new clothing line.
Controversy aside, a fact remains: for us who know a lot about mannequins and visual merchandising, finding a valid supplier becomes even more fundamental than before for all shops and companies that want to promote their product in a market that , in addition to having an increasingly greater sensitivity towards diversity, is increasingly competitive.
